Product DescriptionHand picked from a single premier vineyard in Paso Robles over 120 years old. Carefully harvested solely by hand. These old vines have low yields of grapes, which have exceptional concentrated flavors. The wine was aged for 2 years in French and American oak barrels, half of which were new. A Zinfandel without the excessive "jammyness" of many Zinfandels. Beautifully structured with tastes of blackberry, dried cherry, white pepper and hints of spice. A long, full bodied smooth finish. In blind tastings around the country, Sturino Trotta Old Vine Zinfandel was frequently preferred over these other fine Zinfandels: Turley, Carlisle and Rosenblum. |
